Who we are

This notice explains how Acqua & Farina LLC handles personal information when you browse acquaefarina.com, place an order, contact us or sign up for updates. Our store is hosted on Shopify.

Information collected

  • Contact and order details: name, email, telephone number where provided, billing details, products purchased, payment status, pickup information and messages you send us. Address details may also be supplied by your payment provider.
  • Account information: details associated with an account if you use one, together with order history and preferences.
  • Payment information: payments are processed through the providers available at checkout, including PayPal when selected. We receive information needed to identify and manage transactions, such as payment status and transaction references. Do not send card numbers or payment passwords by email.
  • Device and activity information: IP address, browser and device details, pages viewed, interactions, referral information and cookie identifiers collected through the store and its technologies.
  • Communication preferences: newsletter choices, consent records where relevant and requests to unsubscribe.

How information is used

We use information to process payments and orders, plan production, arrange pickup, send order and pickup notices, respond to questions, maintain records, prevent fraud, secure and improve the store, and comply with legal obligations. Marketing communications are handled according to your preferences and applicable consent requirements.

Where applicable data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on fulfilling your order, complying with legal obligations, legitimate interests such as security and customer service, or consent where required.

Who receives information

We share relevant information with Shopify, payment providers, service providers supporting our store and communications, and personnel or partners assisting with fulfillment and pickup. Bell Springs Winery personnel assisting with your pickup may receive the order and contact details needed for that purpose. This does not itself subscribe you to their marketing.

Analytics and advertising services, where enabled, may receive device identifiers and browsing or interaction information. Such sharing may constitute a sale, sharing or targeted advertising under some privacy laws. Your choices are described below. We may also disclose information when legally required, to protect rights and security, or in connection with a lawful business transfer.

Shopify and payment providers

Shopify processes information to operate and improve its services and may act as an independent controller for certain processing. Where Shopify Network Intelligence or enhanced services are enabled, Shopify may use information about interactions with our store together with information from other merchants to provide those services. See Shopify's Consumer Privacy Policy and Shopify's Privacy Portal for details and choices. When you use PayPal, its Privacy Statement also applies.

Cookies, analytics and advertising choices

Cookies and similar technologies support cart and checkout functions, security, preferences and, where enabled, measurement or advertising. Use any cookie preference or data-sharing controls displayed on the site to manage available choices. You can also manage cookies in your browser; disabling necessary cookies may affect checkout.

For Google services, you can review Google's privacy information and Google Analytics opt-out tool. You can manage advertising preferences through the relevant advertising provider. Contact us at info@acquaefarina.com to request an opt-out of processing for targeted advertising or the sale or sharing of personal information where applicable. Browser opt-out signals are handled as required by applicable law; browser settings do not necessarily stop all data collection.

Email preferences

You can unsubscribe from promotional emails using the unsubscribe link or by emailing us. We may still send necessary order, pickup, service or legal communications. Providing details for an order does not by itself require you to receive marketing.

Retention, security and international processing

We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including order support, accounting, tax, fraud prevention and legal obligations. A deletion request may not remove records we are legally required or otherwise lawfully entitled to retain.

We use reasonable safeguards, but no online transmission or storage system is completely secure. Shopify and other providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where applicable, required safeguards govern international transfers; see the relevant provider's privacy notice for further details.

Your privacy requests

Depending on where you live and the laws applicable to our business, you may have rights to access, obtain a copy of, correct or delete personal information, withdraw consent, or opt out of certain processing, including targeted advertising or sale or sharing. These rights may be subject to exceptions.

Email info@acquaefarina.com with your request. We may need to verify your identity or an authorized agent's authority before acting. We will respond within the period required by applicable law and explain any refusal. You can ask us to review a refusal by replying with “Privacy appeal”; where available, you may also complain to your state attorney general or relevant data protection authority. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.

Children

The online store is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has supplied information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Updates and contact

We may update this notice as our services or practices change. The date above identifies the latest revision. We will provide additional notice or seek consent when required by law.
